How Zoldonat Injection works

Zoldonat 4mg Injection is a bisphosphonate. It acts by suppressing the activity of osteoclasts, cells that cause the destruction of bone, thereby strengthening the bones and minimizing the risk of fractures.

Expert advice for Zoldonat Injection

  • Taken once a year by a 15-minute infusion.
  • Take calcium and vitamin D to help build your bones when taking Zoldonat.
  • Do not take during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Tell your doctor if you become pregnant while taking Zoldonat.
  • Inform your doctor if you experience pain in jaw. This problem may be seen after dental work.
  • Your doctor will monitor your response to Zoldonat by testing your bone mineral density (BMD). This is usually done every 1-3 years.
  • Some patients develop fever or flu-like symptoms, such as chills, tiredness and weakness. These symptoms are usually mild-moderate and should go away after a few days.
  • May cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, headache, and pain in bones, joints and muscles.
  • May cause atrial fibrillation (abnormal heart rhythm). Tell your doctor if you have a heart rhythm problem.
